Disney Extravaganza pt. II

Tomorrowland Transit Authority=BEST RIDE EVER!!! Why?

1. no lines ( a plus with twin toddlers)

2. Long enough ride where you can whip out some snacks and a drink

3. Goes a bit faster than the trains which gives you a nice breeze!

4. Little kids LOVE it. Going through the dark, turning corners, seeing people below, eating, changing into glowy red for a few secs……what’s not to love?

I think we went on this ride 3 or four times…..Awesomeness. Thanks Kate, for telling us about this:)transit authority

Disney World Extravaganza

Day 1

Whew, we made it! Our first real vacation as a family in such a long time. It was so nice to finally get away and worry about long lines and what rides/shows to see instead of washing the dishes and cleaning the house.

Tip#1 Arrive early! Be at the gates before the park opens. Why? Well, one the heat is less severe in the morning….duh! Secondly you can hit just about every ride within range in less than an hour easily. And people are happier too because they haven’t been standing in lines all day in the heat.

Tip #2 Don’t stand in line to greet characters, go to a character breakfast, lunch or dinner. Sit back and enjoy your food and the cool air while the characters come to you! Thank you Park Fare 1900.

Disney on Ice

Last Friday my Mom, me and the twins went to a Disney on Ice show down in Miami. I was a little worried that they would get bored but they did awesome. Simon had his arms in the air the whole time, it was so funny. I think their favorite part was when the each got their own popcorn.  The show was downtown Miami at the America Airlines Arena which was right up against the water….so beautiful!DSCN3343

Parade and Festival Celebration

Thanks for blessing us with your holy water!
What in the world? Where else would you see a Bishop/Archbishop/Catholic Dude, driving in the back of a pickup truck sprinkling holy water on everyone.

Before the parade, they had free pony and train rides....sweet! Simon of course balled his eyes out, but Dave put him on the pony anyway. He calmed down a bit after that. The scenery was beautiful, set against the riverfront we walked along and watched all the yachts/boats sail by. I picked out a few that I told Dave I wouldn't be adverse to owning. Days like this make me so glad we live here, I love being surrounded by all the water and the sunshine. Happy St. Patty's Day!

Orange Blossom Parade

A couple of Saturday's ago we went to a local parade in celebration of our city, Davie's Orange Blossom festival. We had a blast. There weren't a whole lot of floats, but plenty of candy for the kiddos!

So here is my rundown of the parade. Excuse the lack of pictures, you'll just have to visualize this next bit.

My favorite float, a gigantic orange sliced open with Miss Orange "wedged" between....but wait it gets better, on the sides of the orange it said "squeeze me!"

Next down the line would be the ick factor float. As a salute to the "old west", a few savvy seniors.....thought to dress in the saloon style and ride on down in the wagon, all which would have been great except the fact that two of the ladies had on crazy tight corsets with their, errr cleavage spilling out. We saw way more of skin than I'd thought to see....and we weren't even on south beach!

Finally, what old town southernisc parade would be complete without a nod to the confederacy? What? Yes, right behind the local high school band, the sons of confederacy alumni wagon jauntily drives down the route. And there you have it, the Davie Orange Blossom Parade 2010!

Liv loved all the music from the floats!

Quick Trip

It's been awhile, and I still have a bit of back-blogging to do, but just a quick update.
We went to WDW last weekend for a change of pace. The past couple of weeks have been hard with Simon's hospitalization due to RSV, then Liv catching it, then Dave.......I needed to get out!

We had a great time, caught a great show, rode some rides and hit a parade on the way out, which was the definite highlight. The twins got to see all of their favorite characters. They love The Jungle Book and Cinderella a lot right now, and they were so excited to see them "in person." This trip was a really fun one because it was the first time they really started to enjoy everything! Can't wait to go back, hmmm.....maybe next weekend!

Labor Day at Walt Disney World, the Animal Kingdom

Taking two 9 month old's to WDW, are we crazy? Maybe, but we had a great time.
We went to the Animal Kingdom first, and the weather was great...overcast with a breeze.

I have to comment on that lady smiling at us......One definite plus to twins are all the second glances and smiles we get. You can't have a bad day when so many people are smiling at you!

This picture just proves we were here....the classic Tree of Life pose.

Our first ride, the Kilimanjaro Safari.

Me and Olivia on the Safari ride.

I don't know why, but this picture just cracks me up.

Aww, Dad and Livvi looking at the elephants.

Me, sleepy Simon and the elephant in the far right corner.

We thought they might be scared of the characters.....nope, just curious about all that white hair, some of which the did pull off. Sorry Rafiki.

They LOVE shoulder rides.

This is how you feed twins at Disney World.

Labor Day at Walt Disney World, the Magic Kingdom

After a nice long nap, we finished off the day with a few rides in the Magic Kingdom.

We took them on Pirates first. That look on Livvi is before the ride, so I don't think it did too much damage.

Walking back to the car, Liv's had a tiring day.

Day 2. Here we go again. Back to the Magic Kingdom

They were able to sit on Snow White.

Sooo cute.

Next, we went on Peter Pan.

Then, Small World...twice. They really liked this one. Simon loved the monkey's.

The Monkey's

Me and Liv on Small World.

Now it's time to say goodbye....phew what a crazy couple of days.

Beach Fun

I love it when Mom and Dad come into town. Lots of help.
We went to the beach yesterday, and it was soooooo hot. I had to walk out to the ocean with my sandals on because the sand was so hot....crazy. The water was beautiful, but the twins were not too excited about the heat. oh well, maybe next time.

Going on walks

We live in a great area, with lots of open space and grass. So we try to get out and go on walks everyday. It has been so hot lately though that we haven't been able to enjoy the outside much. But tonight was a little cooler so we went out.

You'd think we were strapping them in and taking them somewhere.......unpleasant. Thier faces are soooo funny, I had to post them.
