In a few days the next 5 years of our lives will be determined. Let me explain for all those who aren't medical school savvy,
ok I'm not even medical school savvy, but I'll still try my best to break it down. Dave is in his fourth year of medical school, and the next step is residency.
This past year he has been rotating and interviewing at programs all over the country. He picks or "ranks" all the programs he wants to go to, and the programs rank the students as well. Then on that fateful day in March we find out which program picked us/we picked. Got it? Not really, well me neither. Lets just pretend you get it and move on to the fun stuff. Where will we go????
Here are some of the possibilities................
The great state of Ohio might soon become greater with the
Martineau's arriving. Dave's family living close by would be an excellent bonus!
mmm, cheese and dairy farms and silos and lots and lots of cold snow for long periods of time. Yes, you're right Wisconsin is in the book of maybes. I do have a soft spot for WI, Si and Liv were born there after all, and with city names such as
Oconomowoc and
Waukesha our kids are sure to be spelling bee champs!
We could also just be living a few short hours north of where we are right now. Jacksonville FL. I must admit a few more years in the milder climes would be okay with me. And we'd still be only a few minute from the ocean. I am kind of partial to this choice, I guess we'll see.
Next we have
Louisiana. Yes, there are beautiful plantations there. Aren't they pretty? I'd love to live in a nice big ole plantation house.
Unfortunately this is probably a more realistic
portrait of where we'll be living
We could even have famous neighbors!
And finally.......Home sweet Davie Florida. We could end up staying here. Just look at my beautiful pool. Aren't you jealous, don't you want to come over and take a dip with us?
So there it is folks. We can't wait to see what happens.
